2009-2010 Committees

  • Rules
  • - This committee draws up and enforces the rules that govern meetings and grand sessions. The rules cannot be enforced until they are voted on and passed by the Grand Assembly.

  • Credentials
  • - This committee certifies that all delegates, chapters and departments have met all financial obligations to the Grand Chapter and the Grand Joint Council.

  • Laws and Resolutions
  • - This committee reviews the by-laws and constitution of the state and makes recommendations for the changes in the form of a resolution if needed.

  • Finance
  • - This committee manages the financial activities of the Grand Chapter and provides a report of all expenses, monies taken in and monies distributed. All State financial records are to be closed 30 days prior to the State Convention.

  • Grievance
  • - This committee addresses injustices done to the membership. All complaints must be made in the form of a letter and will be presented to the Grand Assembly for resolution.

  • Public Resolutions
  • - This committee draws up a resolution regarding matters that need the attention of the general public and the position of IFAMM and OES regarding the matter.

  • Publicity
  • - The primary responsibility of this committee is to contact the news media and report the activities for the upcoming State convention. They should make arrangement for news coverage during the convention, if possible. This committee also publicizes the events of the Grand Chapter and promotes events within the Sisterhood that are hosted by the Grand Lodge and other chapters, lodges and departments when requested.

  • Time and Place
  • - This committee works with the Brotherhood in selecting the time and location of the annual State convention.

  • - This committee performs or reports of performance of the Eastern Star Memorial Ceremony in honor of Sisters that have transitioned from the natural body to the spiritual body since the last session.
